Philippine Embassy in Argentina Commemorates the National Women´s Month
To celebrate the International Women’s Month, the Philippine Embassy in Argentina organized a lecture on the health and wellness benefits of Tai Chi on 29 March 2022 at the Embassy Chancery. (Photos from Buenos Aires PE)
BUENOS AIRES 04 April 2022 - An ancient discipline with roots in Chinese Daoist philosophy, Tai Chi is a martial art based on the concept of balance and fluidity. In recent years, newer forms of the art have evolved that have placed greater emphasis on its health benefits.
Mr. Daniel Isla Vior, a Tai Chi master at the Argentine–Chinese Cultural Association, explained the history of the art and the foundational concepts behind it, and how it could positively impact the practitioner’s daily life during a lecture on the health and wellness benefits of Tai Chi on 29 March 2022 at the Embassy Chancery.
In her remarks, Ambassador Linglingay Lacanlale emphasized the importance of a having a holistic approach to health. More than simple physical results, Tai Chi also improves mental and emotional health.
To close the session, First Secretary and Consul Jason Jovencio Anasarias reminded the women participants to prioritize their health and wellness because it is the women who generally bear the responsibility of providing family care and managing the household.
Embassy staff and members of the Filipino community attended the lecture, showing visible support to the national government’s “Purple Tuesday” campaign to “Make Change Work for Women” by wearing purple shirts.
