PASAY CITY 08 April 2022 - Members of the Department of Foreign Affairs Muslim Personnel Association (DFAMPA) meet for the first time since the cessation of the Association’s activities due to the COVID-19 pandemic, in an iftar hosted by Office of Middle East and African Affairs (OMEAA) Assistant Secretary Alfonso A. Ver.
An iftar is an evening meal with which Muslims end the day’s fast at sundown for the month of Ramadan, an obligatory month of fasting, prayer, reflection, and community. The iftar was preceded by a brief lecture on the significance of the month of Ramadan.
According to Assistant Secretary Ver, this occasion to gather and enjoy refreshments is an important opportunity for DFAMPA to regain its momentum after the pandemic, and resume in its activities towards camaraderie among the Department’s Muslim employees. END
