PH Embassy in Tehran Brings Flower Arrangement Workshop to Filipinos for the National Women’s Month and Gender & Development Activity

TEHRAN 04 May 2022 — The Philippine Embassy, led by Chargé d'affaires, a.i. Roberto G. Manalo conducted a Flower Arrangement Workshop, an extended celebration of the National Women’s Month (NWM), at the Embassy courtyard on 28 April 2022.
The workshop, in time for the spring season, was facilitated by an Iranian florist, Ms. Mehrnaz Mehri, who discussed the basic elements, principles, and techniques in flower arrangement.
A total of 17 participants took part in the workshop, including the three Embassy personnel and 14 Filipino community members, mostly second generation Filipino-Iranian ladies, who learned new skills in flower arrangements while observing COVID-19 health and safety protocols. Around 10 members of the Filipino Community and Embassy personnel likewise sat in as observers.
The Embassy received positive feedback from the participants, particularly from the young Filipino-Iranians, expressing their excitement on how such a workshop can build functional skills as well as open important discussions in inspiring and empowering women, and also men, to be agents of change for a more gender-inclusive society.
