DFA Consular Office in Butuan Joins 2022 World Day against Trafficking Celebration

DFA-Consular Office in Butuan personnel joined the campaign to end trafficking in line with the celebration of the 2022 National Anti-Trafficking in Persons Awareness Month and the World Day Against Trafficking.

BUTUAN 12 August 2022 - The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) Consular Office in Butuan joined the celebration of the World Day Against Trafficking by participating in a series of activities initiated by partner agencies in the region for the month of July 2022. This year’s celebration carried the theme, “Use and Abuse of Technology”.

Gender and Development (GAD) Focal Person Rhodarora G. Zaportiza-Corvera and Alternate GAD Focal person, Mary Angelica Balanay participated in the live-streaming activity hosted by CHR Caraga called Kape Ta!

The event featured anti-trafficking advocates who discussed the specific roles of the agencies related to combating the current issues related to trafficking in person (TIP). The discussion highlighted the interventions made by the agencies in terms of providing direct services to trafficking victims and survivors.

The GAD Team also attended the culmination program of the National Anti-Trafficking in Persons Awareness Month and World Day Against Trafficking (WDAT) celebration hosted by the Regional Inter-Agency Committee Against Trafficking - Violence Against Women and their Children (RIACAT-VAWC) where certificates of recognition was given to Provincial/Local Committee Against Trafficking (P/LCAT) for their functionality assessment of the year 2022.
