PAMPANGA 03 November 2022 — The DFA Consular Office (CO) in San Fernando, Pampanga conducted a “Breast Cancer Awareness” campaign through a month-long information dissemination drive at the CO held from 03 to 28 October 2022.
Information on breast cancer prevention and early sign detection was made available to all applicants through QR codes were posted in highly visible and accessible locations within the CO. The GAD focal persons also took advantage of applicants’ waiting time to provide brief awareness information, as CO’s monitors played videos on the subject.
Applicants were encouraged to be aware of the symptoms through breast self-exam since early detection is best. According to DOH, breast cancer is the third leading cause of cancer deaths in the Philippines.
A discussion on breast cancer was also incorporated during the Retooling Seminar for Temporary Offsite Passport Services (TOPS) personnel from Angeles, Malolos, San Fernando Pampanga and Olongapo, which was conducted by the Consular Office on 15 October 2022 at the Consular Office in Pampanga. The activity is part of the Consular Office’s GAD activity. END
