PH Embassy in Manama Holds Forum on Bahrain’s Laws Promoting the Rights of Women

MANAMA 05 December 2022 — The Philippine Embassy in Manama, Kingdom of Bahrain, conducted a Forum for its personnel on Bahrain’s Laws Promoting the Rights of Women on 28 November 2022. The resource speakers at the Forum were Ms. Dana Al Mannaie and Mr. Hani Shatla, who are both Legal Consultants from the Embassy’s legal counsel, Maha Jaber Law Firm.
Ms. Al Mannaie discussed the rights of women under Bahrain’s laws and the services offered by the Supreme Council for Women for Bahraini and foreign nationals. Ms. Al Mannaie also discussed assistance in cases of human trafficking and sexual harassment, including the proper procedure for reporting such cases. On the other hand, Mr. Shatla discussed the local labor law and benefits for women employees.
After the presentations of the resource speakers, several personnel raised questions and clarifications on the important topics covered in the forum.
The Forum aimed to further provide knowledge for the Embassy's personnel to make them better equipped in responding to and assisting distressed Filipino women. The Forum was also held in conjunction with this year’s observance of the 18-day Campaign to End Violence Against Women (VAW), with the theme, “United for a VAW-free Philippines”. END
