DFA Consular Office NCR-Northeast Joins the Nation in Celebrating the 2023 National Women's Month

QUEZON CITY 16 March 2023 –  The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) Consular Office (CO) NCR-Northeast (Ali Mall) is participating in the nationwide celebration of the National Women’s Month for the whole month of March.  

With the theme “WE for Gender Equality and Inclusive Society”, CO Personnel showed their support to this year’s Women’s Month by wearing purple ribbons throughout the duration of the campaign period. The CO personnel also actively participated in #PurpleWednesdays campaign by wearing purple attire and purple face mask on all Wednesdays of March to signify support for women’s empowerment and gender equality.

In addition to the display of the 2023 Women’s Month campaign streamers in the passport, releasing, and authentication areas, the campaign banner was also uploaded in the TV monitor of the consular reception area.

In celebration of International Women's Day on March 8, the CO has given away complimentary purple face masks to applicants who are dressed in purple. The CO also held activities amongst its personnel, highlighting great Filipino Women and giving out of rewards wrapped in purple, to commemorate International Women's Day.  

The Consular Office will continue to promote gender equality and women empowerment in the workplace through its various programs and activities.

The active participation of the CO in this year’s Women’s Month Celebration was spearheaded by Gender and Development Focal Point Officer (GADFPO) Ms. Joy Hombrebueno and GADFPO Alternate Mr. Robert John Grimares with the help of the CO’s women personnel together with the guidance of the Head of Consular Office (HCO) Ms. Thelma Divino and CO Administrative Officer Ms. Josephine Luna.
