KIDAPAWAN 23 March 2023 – The DFA Consular Office in Kidapawan celebrated the International Women’s Day and National Women’s Month Celebration, with the support from the Local Government Unit (LGU) of Kidapawan and the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) on 08 March 2023 at DFA Kidapawan Consular Office, Kidapawan City.

The event was organized by the Head of Consular Office and Gender and Development (GAD) Focal Point Nadjefah B. Acampong-Mangondaya to take part in highlighting women’s achievements and empowerment, and addressing gender equality issues and challenges as the role of women is continuously expanding in today’s world.

Ms. Aida Labina, Public OFW Desk Officer, served as the guest speaker and dedicated the poem “I Got Flowers Today” by Paulette Kelly to all women especially those victims of violence. The poem encourages women to stand for what they believe in and be treated with respect.

The Consular Office also organized the Purple Your Icon Contest for CO Kidapawan frontline sections to put their creativity to the test and convey their message for National Women’s Month.

Aside from the program, the DFA CO Kidapawan also participated in the Tree Planting Activity by LGU Kidapawan which was done within the CO premises. LGU Kidapawan donated various seedlings, including durian, lanzones, and other fruit-bearing trees.

The said programs aim to strengthen CO Kidapawan’s efforts to further boost its Gender and Development activities, promote work-life balance among its staff and collaborate with other government agencies in the city. END
