PH Consulate General in Dubai Focuses on Health and Wellness in Celebration of National Women’s Month

Over 30 personnel of the Dubai PCG participated in the yoga session on 24 March 2023 at the Rizal Hall of the Consulate.

DUBAI 29 March 2023 – The Philippine Consulate General in Dubai held a yoga session on 24 March 2023, as part of its Gender and Development program and in celebration of National Women’s Month. Instructors from Bharatiya Yog Sansthan (BYS) - Dubai, a non-sectarian and non-profit organization advocating yoga as a healthy way of life, facilitated the free session.

In his opening remarks, Consul General Renato N. Dueñas, Jr. said the activity aims to introduce yoga to the Consulate personnel and encourage them to explore the benefits of yoga or aspects of it with a view to making it a part of their daily routine.  Mr. Sudhir Kunnath, one of the facilitators, discussed some of the benefits of yoga, such as improving physical and mental health. The lead yoga instructor, Ms. Vijayalakshmi Reddy, taught participants essential breathing and meditation techniques and several yoga poses for beginners. END
