PH Embassy in Port Moresby Joins the Nation in Yearly Observance of the National Women’s Month

PORT MORESBY, 27 March 2023 – The Philippine Embassy in Port Moresby joins the nation in the yearly observance of the National Women's Month. The Embassy is one with the Filipino nation commemorating this year's celebration with the theme "WE for gender equality and inclusive society."
As its way of promoting the said campaign, the Philippine Embassy personnel observed wearing purple on all Wednesdays of March.
On 25 March 2023, the Philippine Embassy distributed Juana Kits (hygiene kits) to the homeless female victims of domestic violence in Port Moresby.
Another group of Filipinos from the Alpha Kappa Rho Papua New Guinea International Council distributed grocery items to the same group of women.
The event was coordinated by Ms. Marilyn Espolong, Adviser of the Filipino Association of Papua New Guinea (FAPNG), who is also a reserve Police officer of the Family and Sexual Violence Unit (FSVU) based in Town Police Station, Port Moresby. END
