DFA San Fernando, Pampanga Holds "Iwas Heatstroke sa Tag-init" Health Drive

SAN FERNANDO 04 April 2023 – The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) Consular Office (CO) in San Fernando, Pampanga conducted its “Iwas Heatstroke sa Tag-init” health drive on 29 March 2023 which was aimed at preventing heat exhaustion and heatstroke, particularly among elderly, pregnant women and those with medical conditions, as the summertime temperature is expected to increase in the coming weeks.  The activity was part of CO’s program for the elderly in connection with the Women’s Month celebration and Gender and Development Program. 

The Consular Office offered free blood pressure checks to elderly applicants to ensure that there is no risk of heat exhaustion.  Chilled water, coconut juices and summer fruits were made available to applicants to help them cool off while waiting for their turn to avail of passport and authentication services.  

Umbrellas, water jugs, fans and caps were also distributed to applicants to help them beat the summer heat.  Flyers containing information about heat stroke and best food for summer were also distributed to applicants.   

The “Iwas Heatstroke sa Tag-init” health drive was also extended to other applicants and mall goers. END
