DFA CO Butuan Celebrates National Women's Month 2023 with Adoption and Foster Care Forum

BUTUAN CITY 11 April 2023 – The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) Consular Office (CO) Butuan successfully held a seminar discussing pertinent laws on the protection and promotion of the well-being of a child or minor on 18 March 2023 as part of its activities to celebrate the 2023 National Women’s Month.

Participating personnel from the CO learned several laws, such as Republic Act (RA) No. 11642 otherwise known as the “Domestic Administrative Adoption and Alternative Child Care”; Republic Act No. 10165 or the “Foster Care Act of 2012”; and Republic Act No. 11222 also known as the “Simulated Birth Rectification Act”. Registered Social Workers from the Regional Alternative Child Care Office (RACCO) Caraga, Ms. Lexshen C. Yacapin and Ms. Sittie Hainnah C. Omar, served as resource speakers. END
