PH Consulate General in Jeddah Conducts “YES, WE CAN!” Women’s Month Financial Literacy Webinar

JEDDAH 11 April 2023 — The Philippine Consulate General in Jeddah successfully conducted on 29 March 2023 the “YES, WE CAN!” Women’s Month Financial Literacy Webinar.
The following were the topics discussed in the webinar: Updates on SSS Programs and Services: Maternity Benefits by Mr. Michael Ingal, SSS-Jeddah; “Kayang-Kaya, Kabayan! Mahahalagang Financial Tips para sa Pagtupad ng mga Pangarap” by Mr. Jonathan Celis, BDO-Jeddah; and Digital Banking and Online Safety by Mr. Gerald Heriales, Overseas Filipino Bank- Middle East
The activity was aimed at educating women, as well as men, on the different SSS benefits and services, including maternity benefits for women, which was discussed by Mr. Michael Ingal of the Social Security System-Jeddah; as well as provide them with savings and investment tips for a more secure future as discussed by Mr. Jonathan Celis of BDO-Jeddah. Overseas Filipino Bank representative Mr. Gerald Heriales also discussed online banking as well as ensuring safety in making online transactions, which is now the trend in banking and finance worldwide.
In his message, Consul General Edgar Tomas Q. Auxilian said that to be empowered in the use of one’s income is a way of empowering women and men to be active contributors to the country’s economy. “The financial literacy webinar is a way of educating our Filipino women and men to be intelligent users of their hard-earned income that would lead to a better and more prosperous life”, Consul General Auxilian added.
This year’s National Women’s Month celebration has the theme “We for Gender Equality and Inclusive Society.” END
