DFA Consular Office in San Fernando Pampanga Joins Breastfeeding Campaign

SAN FERNANDO 04 September 2023 – The DFA Consular Office in San Fernando Pampanga conducted “Latch-On: Breastfeeding Forum” on 25 August 2023 as it joined the City’s breastfeeding campaign in celebration of the 2023 National Breastfeeding Month.

The forum, which was conducted by Dra. Jaira Dela Peña Natividad, Women’s Program Manager of the City of San Fernando Pampanga, discussed the importance and benefits of breastfeeding and breast milk extraction to personnel from DFA Consular Office in Pampanga and Zambales, TOPS San Fernando and TOPS Olongapo.

The forum also tackled Republic Act 10028 or the Expanded Exclusive Breastfeeding in the Workplace Law since CO believes that workplace environment and intervention are essential components to “make breastfeeding and work, work”, which was the theme of this year’s campaign.

The forum was also opened to the public through video conference as the consular office distributed relevant information materials and invitation link to applicants prior to the forum.

Dra. Natividad also inspected the newly improved “Lactation Station” of the Consular Office. Earlier in the day, the office’s two registered nurses also conducted its regular health drive offering free blood pressure, sugar level and oxygen check to interested applicants. END
