DFA CO Puerto Princesa Kicks Off Its 18-Day Campaign to End Violence Against Women
PUERTO PRINCESA 30 November 2023 – In line with the nationwide observance of the 18-day Campaign to End Violence Against Women from 25 November to 12 December 2023, personnel of the Department of Foreign Affairs - Consular Office (CO) Puerto Princesa decorated its passport processing area with orange balloons and End VAW tarpaulin to generate public awareness on this ongoing campaign. ICT materials and snacks in orange packages were also made available for the clients.
CO PPC personnel wearing orange shirts printed with this year’s theme “UNiTEd for a VAW-Free Philippines” welcomed the passport applicants and invited them to join the flag raising ceremony featuring the All Women Cast Philippine National Anthem and the End VAW Prayer. They also enjoined the passport applicants in reciting the Pledge to End VAW.
HCO Liza Jane V. Estalilla formally welcomed the guests and explained the significance of the End VAW Campaign wherein all Filipinos should play an active role as advocates for a violence-free and gender-friendly society. She also invited them to join the “Handa Ka Na Bang Mag-abroad?” Anti-humanTrafficking and Illegal Recruitment Seminar and the Self-Defense Workshop that the CO organized in collaboration with the City Police Office and the City Sports Office of Puerto Princesa. The event will be held on 14 December at the Robinsons Place Palawan Activity Center as part of the CO Puerto Princesa’s End VAW Campaign. END
