DFA CO Paniqui Provides Courtesy Lane Slots to Women in Observance of 18-Day Campaign to End Violence Against Women 2023
PANIQUI 15 December 2023 – The Consular Office Paniqui initiated a campaign granting Courtesy Lane slots to women on all Saturdays of the 18-Day Campaign to End Violence Against Women.
The initiative accommodated a total of 182 applications, which are summarized below:
This particular initiative, which promotes the theme "UNiTEd for a VAW-Free Philippines," intends to provide working women or housewives with a small token of appreciation from the Department in recognition of their hard work and perseverance in serving not only their family but their beloved country.
Ms. Judy Anne Sampang, the CO Paniqui's Gender and Development Focal Person, Alternate: Juniels Marzan, and the CODI Chairperson, Ms. Rosette Austria, spearheaded the campaign by recognizing the need of women, with the presence of the gender issue of multiple burdens causing women not to be able to make time for passport appointments on weekdays, and with the Department's approval on conducting Saturday operations for the entire duration of the 18-Day campaign.
The office also conducted an interactive discussion regarding VAWC-related laws, focusing specifically on the Safe Spaces Act and CODI process that are relevant to the office, as well as the distribution of the anti-rape kit for the women of CO Paniqui. END
