PH Embassy in Jakarta Holds Special Screening of Pink Halo-Halo In Observance Of 18-Day Campaign to End Violence Against Women

JAKARTA 19 December 2023 – To mark the culmination of the 18-day Campaign to End Violence Against Women which began on 25 November 2023, the Philippine Embassy’s Gender and Development Unit, in cooperation with BINUS University’s International Experience Section and Film Department and EdukSine, held a special screening of “Pink Halo-Halo.”

“Pink Halo-Halo” is a 2010 film by Filipino director Joselito Altarejos which focuses on the themes of peace and justice and violence against women and children. It won the Cinemalaya award for Best Editing and the Jury Prize Film for Children in 2010.

The Philippine Embassy is one with the Philippine Commission on Women in calling all Filipinos to be “UNITEd for a VAW-free Philippines” and supports the United Nations’ campaign of “UNITE by 2030 to End VAW.” Through this film showing, the Embassy aims to emphasize the global call for action in addressing and responding to gender-based violence.
