PH Embassy Celebrates International Women's Day in Dili

DILI 12 March 2024 – The Embassy of the Philippines in Dili, in collaboration with Timor-Leste's Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation (MoFAC), Secretary of State for Equality and Inclusion, UN Women, the diplomatic corps, and various organizations, celebrated the International Women's Day at the MoFAC grounds on 08 March 2024. The event facilitated the display of vibrant and rich cultural diversity of the world while celebrating women’s empowerment and their contributions to community and national development.

The main highlight of the event was the series of mesmerizing cultural performances and the colorful booths showcasing the diverse cultures featured by the foreign ministry, participating embassies and organizations. The tapestry of cultural performances, which showcased the talents of volunteer performers representing their particular cultures, captivated the audience. From traditional dances to musical performances, this segment of the program was a melting pot of creativity and diversity.

In addition to the captivating performances, the booths set up by various embassies and organizations were a feast for the senses, offering visitors a glimpse into the richness of various cultures and traditions. From crafts to culinary delights, each booth was a celebration of heritage and ethnicity, inviting guests to explore, connect, and learn from one another.

The fusion of cultural performances and colorful booths created a dynamic and engaging atmosphere that celebrated the beauty of diversity and showcased the unity in celebrating women's achievements and contributions to society.

The Embassy expressed its appreciation to the event organizers for being given the opportunity to celebrate the resilience, creativity, and strength of women from all walks of life. The Embassy also thanked and congratulated all participants, performers, and exhibitors who made this celebration a truly memorable experience in the spirit of celebrating women and their contributions to society.
