PH Embassy in Mexico Observes 2024 18-Day Campaign to End Violence Against Women with a Lecture on Mental Health and Wellness and Basic Arnis Lessons

MEXICO 26 December 2024— In observance of the 18-Day Campaign to End Violence Against Women (VAW) 2024, anchored on the recurring theme “UNiTEd for a VAW-Free Philippines,'' along with the 2024 sub-theme, “VAW Bigyang Wakas, Ngayon na ang Oras!”, the Philippine Embassy in Mexico organized a lecture for its personnel on “MENTAL HEALTH FIRST AID KIT: Wellness Practices for Stress and Anxiety Management + Burnout Prevention” with a Filipino Psychologist, Ms. Bianca Marie C. Santos, as resource speaker on 05 December 2024.
Likewise, the Embassy invited once again Mr. Lenin Betanzo Mendoza of the Sistemas de Defensa Personal Urbana to teach a basic arnis class for self-defense for the Embassy personnel during the culmination of the campaign on 12 December 2024.
In her remarks, Ambassador Lilybeth R. Deapera underscored the importance of self-defense for personal safety and she encouraged everyone to be a strong advocate against any forms of violence against women. END
