MUSCAT 14 March 2025 — In celebration of International Women’s Day, the Philippine Embassy in Oman, in collaboration with Migrant Workers Office - Oman, reaffirmed its commitment to women’s empowerment and work-life balance by organizing a fun and engaging golf clinic designed to inspire confidence, teamwork, and wellness among its female personnel.
The event offered Embassy personnel a refreshing break from their routine, providing an opportunity to learn new skills and engage in an enjoyable yet challenging sport. With the generous support of Ghala Golf Club in Muscat, which provided the venue and professional golf lessons for free, participants had the chance to practice and improve their putting in a supportive setting.
A friendly putting challenge added excitement to the event wherein participants competed for three special titles. Attaché Anjeanet Cruz won the Slay and Play award as the most fashionable golfer, Vice Consul April Casquejo earned the Putting Diva award for her confidence and consistency, and Administrative Staff Naomi Velasquez was crowned Queen of the Green as the overall champion.
Ambassador Raul S. Hernandez, together with his spouse, Madame Ana Algabre-Hernandez, and MWO Officer-in-Charge Tito Baldago, led the awarding ceremony, recognizing the participants' efforts and emphasizing the importance of empowering women through recreational and skill-building activities. In his remarks, Ambassador Hernandez highlighted the value of physical activity, stating, "The more we exercise, the better we become—more intelligent, wiser, and more generous and helpful to others."
Through this initiative, the Embassy underscores the importance of gender empowerment by fostering an inclusive and supportive work environment. By promoting recreational activities that contribute to both physical and mental well-being, the Embassy continues to advocate for strong, confident, and empowered women in the workforce. END
