Philippine Embassy Celebrates the Success of Filipino Women at Paralúman 2025

BERN 20 March 2025 — In celebration of International Women’s Day and National Women’s Month, the Philippine Embassy together with the Filipino community in Switzerland gathered to together celebrate the inspirational journey and success of Filipino women in Switzerland.

On its second year, the event entitled Paralúman- a muse, an inspiration and guiding compass featured Ms. Sarah Reyes, entrepreneur and art advocate, and Ms. Gwendolyne Pascua-Morin, Senior Research Associate at Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts. Ms. Reyes is the founder of art café-wine bar COIN COIN, innovative culinary collective Studio CHOU CHOU, and Filipino food movement in Switzerland, Kamayan Kollektive. Ms. Pasuca-Morin, meanwhile, had worked as the operations lead, ground controller, and security manager at the BIOTESC-European Space Agency User Support and Operations Center (ESA USOC), providing critical support in ensuring the mission success of experiments executed by astronauts aboard the International Space Station (ISS).

The two women talked about their path to success in their respective fields of the creative industry and science, technology, engineering, and math or STEM. They also shared with the women and men of the Filipino Community in Switzerland about the challenges they faced and how they overcame them to achieve their goals.

PH Ambassador to Switzerland Bernard Faustino M. Dy said that he took pride in the achievements of these two Filipino women in Switzerland and offered his congratulations to Ms. Reyes and Ms. Pascua-Morin, as well as to the Filipino women in Switzerland on the occasion of International Women’s Day and National Women’s Month.
