MANILA 24 March 2025 — As part of the celebration of National Women’s Month, Madame Pamela Louise Hunt Manalo, spouse of Secretary of Foreign Affairs Enrique A. Manalo, served as Guest of Honor in an outreach activity led by the Department of Foreign Affairs Office of Protocol (DFA-OP) at Asilo de San Vicente de Paul in Manila. The event featured an art workshop and Gender and Development (GAD) activity, underscoring the crucial role of women, particularly the youth, in nation-building.
Welcomed with flowers and a song by the children of Asilo, Madame Manalo was joined by Assistant Secretary Ariel Rodelas Peñaranda, Chief of Protocol. Rev. Sr. Rio A. Dublin, Administrator of Asilo, expressed gratitude for their commitment to empowering women and children.
Assistant Secretary Peñaranda encouraged the children to embrace their talents:
“Art allows us to express who we are and what we hope for. Your story and voice matter—you have the power to shape tomorrow.”
Madame Manalo reinforced this message, highlighting self-belief and perseverance:
“You are the light of the future and the hope of the nation.”
The children’s artistic talents were showcased through an exhibition, with Madame Manalo and DFA-OP personnel providing encouragement and feedback. The event also featured games and interactive activities that fostered camaraderie among the children and guests.
