PH Embassy in Lebanon Concludes Women’s Month 2025 with Empowering Initiatives

BEIRUT 02 April 2025 — In celebration of Women’s Month 2025, with the theme “Babae sa Lahat ng Sektor, Aangat ang Bukas sa Bagong Pilipinas,” the Philippine Embassy in Lebanon, in collaboration with the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA), the Lebanese Women Democratic Gathering (RDFL), and the International Organization for Migration (IOM), hosted a series of events designed to empower, uplift, and honor women from all walks of life.
A lecture on the history of women’s rights and their evolving role in society set the stage for meaningful discussions on the progress women have made and the work still to be done. Filipino women community leaders received valuable tools and training to help them lead with confidence while practical workshops in baking, sewing, sushi and candle-making provided women with the skills to pursue new opportunities for independence and entrepreneurship. In a powerful gesture of inclusivity, the Embassy worked alongside IOM to ensure that women with disabilities had equal access to all support.
The month culminated in a ceremony, bringing together 150 participants who had engaged in the various activities throughout Women’s Month. A moving advocacy video shared the untold stories of women facing additional struggles in global conflicts.
These initiatives hinge on the Embassy’s unwavering commitment to the rights of women, recognizing their essential role in society, and working towards a brighter, more inclusive future for all women, across every sector, and for a stronger, more empowered Philippines. END
