Philippines Presents Draft Recommendations on Governance, Working Methods and Procedures of the IOC

12 July 2017 - The Philippines, as co-chair of Sub-Group 2 of the Working Group on Governance, presented draft recommendations on governance, working methods and procedures of the Intergovernmental Oceanographic Commission (IOC) during the 50th Session of the IOC Executive Council held at UNESCO headquarters.
The IOC Executive Council and the Secretariat conveyed appreciation to the Working Group on Governance and will discuss the draft recommendations to further improve working methods and procedures of the Governing Bodies of the IOC.
The IOC Executive Council is composed of 40 Member States, including the Philippines. It holds two ordinary sessions during the two-year interval between ordinary sessions of the Assembly to implement decisions on behalf of IOC Member States.
