Toronto  Yolanda assistance

07 April 2014 – On April 3, Philippine Consul General in Toronto Junever Mahilum-West , by invitation of the Office of Prime Minister Stephen Harper joined a gathering of officials, the Red Cross and other Canadian relief organizations, members of the Filipino-Canadian community and the media, during which the Prime Minister thanked the people of Canada for their donations to assist survivors of typhoon Yolanda (Haiyan), surpassing C$170,000,000 and placing Canada as 3rd-ranking country in terms of total assistance.


Toronto  Yolanda assistance3Senator Tobias “Jun” Enverga, Jr. and Minister of State (Seniors) Alice Wong were also present in the event.  The Canadian Red Cross demonstrated the packing of kitchen sets destined for the Philippines to help relief and rehabilitation efforts. END
