DFA Statement on the Terrorist Attack in Stockholm

The government and the people of the Philippines strongly condemn the appalling terror attack in Stockholm when a stolen beer truck was forcibly rammed into a department store, killing four people and injuring fifteen others.
The Philippines joins Sweden in mourning the loss of innocent lives and prays for the speedy recovery of the victims injured by this terroristic act.
Nothing can justify this heinous crime, which is a direct attack on the democratic principles that both the Philippines and Sweden stand for. We must continue to be vigilant to prevent such acts from ever happening again.
The Philippines Embassy in Oslo is closely monitoring the situation and is in touch with the Filipino community in Stockholm. END
