MANILA 13 December 2024 – The Office of Protocol (DFA-OP) joined the 18-Day Campaign to End Violence Against Women (VAW) through a seminar-workshop titled, “Sensitivity in the Workplace, Empowering Gender-Fair Spaces.”

Ms. Ameerah D. Milano, Coordinator of the Gender and Development Desk in the Academic Affairs Office at Far Eastern University, conducted the seminar-workshop, which highlighted R.A. No. 7877 or the Anti-Sexual Harassment Act of 1995 and R.A. 6713 or the Code of Conduct of Ethical Standards of Public Officials and Employees. Interactive exercises were also conducted to gauge the level of understanding of DFA-OP personnel on VAW, and to identify areas for improvement in the office’s gender sensitivity and responsiveness programs.

Assistant Secretary Ariel Rodelas Peñaranda, in his remarks, highlighted “Violence against women and children is not just a women’s issue—it is a human rights issue. It is a societal issue that demands our collective attention, action, and accountability.” END
