13 June 2017 NEW YORK — Philippine Consul General in New York Ma. Theresa B. Dizon-de Vega met with New York Police Commissioner James P. O'Neill at the NYPD Headquarters.
During the meeting, Consul General de Vega thanked Commissioner O'Neill for the security arrangements being provided by New York's Finest for the Philippines' diplomatic personnel based in New York, visiting Philippine officials, and the Filipino-American community.
The Consul General also extended the Filipino-American community's appreciation for the active participation of the men and women of the NYPD during the Philippine Independence Day Parade; Cultural Show, and Street Fair held on June 04.
The NYPD and the Philippine Consulate General likewise agreed to continue discussions on the possible renewal of the existing MOU on Cooperation in Preventing and Combating Transnational Crimes between the Philippine National Police (PNP) and the NYPD.
