AUTHENTICATION
26 March 2014 - The resident missions of six ASEAN member countries in the Sultanate of Oman joined together to hold the 2nd ASEAN Sports Day in Oman on March 22.
Almost 200 individuals participated in the various activities held at the Sultan Qaboos Sports Complex, Muscat, to promote goodwill and camaraderie among the different ASEAN communities.
The event was launched with the communal singing of the ASEAN Anthem, “The ASEAN Way” and a cake cutting ceremony. The opening ceremony was followed by a variety of sports activities, such as darts, table tennis, badminton, basketball and football. Kids also enjoyed the coloring activities and other fun games.
Lucky draws and the community dancing of “poco-poco,” an Indonesian line dance, spiced up the event.
The six ASEAN member countries with Embassies in Oman are Brunei Darussalam, Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, and Thailand. END
