22 August 2017 MOSCOW – Philippine Ambassador to Russia Carlos D. Sorreta congratulated Mr. Alexander Pisarkin and his Global Action Group for producing KINGS BLADE, a Russian-Filipino action documentary film featuring world famous Filipino Martial Arts (FMA) grandmasters.

Ambassador Sorreta said “KINGS BLADE will be a major contribution to all our efforts to introduce more Russians to Filipino Martial Arts and is a great way to promote the Philippines,” adding “we are very grateful to the producers and the distinguished practitioners of Filipino Martial Arts in the film for telling the story of an art form and fighting technique that one can say is distinctly Filipino.”

Aside from Mr. Pisarkin who is from Russia and Mr. Felix Cortes who is from the USA, the movie featured the following FMS Grandmasters from the Philippines: Romeo Macapagal, Arnold Narzo, Bobby Taboada, Rodel Dagooc, Rene Tongson, Nick Elizar, Rommel Tortal, Nonoy Garrido and Ray Dionaldo.

KINGS BLADE premiered in Russia on July 13 at the House of Cinema in Ekaterinburg.  The premiere was viewed by a standing room only crowd and was well received by viewers. FMA Grandmasters Rene Tongson and Felix Cortes joined the premier and met many Russian fans of FMA.  Aside from highlighting FWS, the film also showed the natural beauty of the Philippines and the many reasons tourists should visit.

The Philippine Embassy and Global Action Group agreed to work together to show the film to a larger audience in Russia.
